7 awesome panels to check out on the final day of San Diego Comic-Con

The final slate of panels has been announced for San Diego Comic-Con, and it's set to feature some cool TV events, as well as some nice comic panels.

There are some good horror and supernatural panels on the docket for Day 4, along with some intriguing Marvel and Dark Horse discussions that should touch on some interesting topics. There’s also a nifty panel with Robert Kirkman talking the future of comics, which should be a nice one.

    Pontificate on Marvel’s 75th anniversary

    This Marvel panel will be moderated by Mark Waid (Daredevil), Comic-Con special guests Dan Slott (Superior Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man) and Joe Quesada (chief creative officer, Marvel Entertainment) will be on hand to discuss Marvel’s slate of heroes and what keeps them fighting the good fight. It should make for a nice retrospective looking at the company’s origin and where it’s headed next. Hey, why not end the convention with some big comics stuff?

    Actually check out some comics at Dark Horse’s big panel

    Yes, the event has largely shifted its focus from its namesake medium, but there are still some cool comic panels between all the splashy movie and TV events. Dark Horse’s major Sunday panel promises some of the “biggest news about new original works,” which could be some very cool stuff.

    Talk women in Marvel Comics with writers and artists

    Producer and photographer Judy Stephens, Marvel's The Watcher host Lorraine Cink, Marvel Studios asset manager Alexis Auditore, artist Katie Cook (All-New Marvel NOW! Animal Variants) artist Rachelle Rosenberg (Amazing X-Men), and special guest editor-in-chief Axel Alonso will be talking about everything from Ms. Marvel to Black Widow, along with “what it’s like working as a woman in comics today and what it means for the future of the industry.”

    Catch up on the serial killer hunt with The Following

    Series stars Kevin Bacon, Shawn Ashmore, Sam Underwood and Jessica Stroup join creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson and executive producer Marcos Siega to talk about Fox’s terrifying serial killer series The Following and what they have planned next season. They’ll also have some footage to show off, so we’d guess there will be blood.

    Talk comics with Kirkman and the Skybound team

    Kirkman’s fingerprints are all over Comic-Con, and his Sunday panel should be a fun one. Instead of focusing on just the hits like Walking Dead, Kirkman and fellow Skybound writers and artists - including Josh Williamson (Ghosted), Khary Randolph (Tech Jacket), Matt Roberts (Manifest Destiny), and Chris Dingess (Manifest Destiny) - will talk about what they’re developing, as well as the state of comics, in general.

    Find out what evil comes this way in Supernatural S10

    It’s one of the longest-running shows on TV these days, and The CW’s Supernatural shows no signs of slowing down. Stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins and Mark A. Sheppard, along with executive producer Jeremy Carver will be talking about the season nine cliffhanger and what they’re planning next season. They’ll also be showing off some footage from the S9 DVD release, and some special features.

    Get a peek at the rest of del Toro’s The Strain

    Guillermo del Toro, along with the cast and crew of his new FX horror series The Strain, will be on hand for a panel to show off some new footage from season one of the ambitious horror thriller. Del Toro will be joined by Chuck Hogan, showrunner Carlton Cuse and cast members Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Mia Maestro, Sean Astin, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Miguel Gomez, Ben Hyland, and Jack Kesey.
