Wait, did Hayley Atwell just confirm Howard Stark will be in Agent Carter?

Ever since Marvel announced it was going ahead with Agent Carter, fans have been clamoring to see Dominic Cooper reprise the role of Howard Stark — aka Tony Starks’s (Robert Downey Jr.) dad — in the upcoming TV series.

In an interview with The Telegraph, the ever-luminous Hayley Atwell — who is reprising her role as Captain America’s first love, Peggy Carter, in ABC's limited-run series Agent Carter — may have let it slip that Cooper would indeed be back as Howard Stark for Marvel’s upcoming series.

While discussing pranks that she has played on past co-stars, Atwell briefly talked about pranking her rumored co-star (Dominic Cooper) when he joins her on the set of Agent CarterHere’s the somewhat incriminating line:

“He’s incredibly naughty, So I’m going to start the pranks as early as I can. He will come up with some very good ones, too.”

Now, this is no official confirmation on Marvel's part, you guys, and we don’t know in what capacity Cooper will be involved in the TV series either. But it does make perfect sense to have him back for Agent Carter.

Howard Stark was instrumental in the events of Captain America: The First Avenger (being also a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist like his son — the apple never falls too far from the tree, after all). Stark is the one who worked on the machine (while Dr. Erskine created the Super Soldier Serum) that transformed a skinny Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) into Captain America. He also provided our hero in red, white and blue with his Captain America military suit and his Vibranium shield. He also retrieved the tesseract and experimented on it. But most importantly, Stark was also there to plant the seeds for S.H.I.E.L.D., as teased in the excellent Iron Man 3 Blu-ray short Agent Carter.

The time frame of the Marvel One-Shot story is set one year after the events of Captain America and sees Peggy — faced with a bastard misogynistic boss (played by Bradley Whitford) — going solo (and being totally kickass whilst doing so) on an important mission. It had a surprise cameo by Howard Stark (also in attendance with Dum Dum Dugan, played by Neal McDonough) phoning Peggy up and asking her to co-head the newly created S.H.I.E.L.D.

Also worth noting: During the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Howard Stark's pic was seen alongside that of Peggy Carter and Colonel Chester Phillips (Tommy Lee Jones) in a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. base in Camp Lehigh.

What do you guys think? Do you believe that Dominic Cooper will indeed be a part of Agent Carter?
