Hunger Games actor will be Matt Murdoch's best friend in Netflix's Daredevil

From one of the hottest movie franchises to one of the most anticipated upcoming ongoing series? Yeah, all right.

Netflix's Daredevil series is coming out next year. Despite the mixed reception for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., anticipation for the series is still through the roof. Marvel's still hot, and Netflix has become home for binge-watching all-new programming.

All Daredevil has to do is be, ya know, GOOD. So they need a solid cast. We just told you about Rosario Dawson joining up, but now we've got another actor jumping on board who will be playing Matt Murdoch's best buddy, Foggy Nelson. That actor is Mockingjay star Elden Henson. Or, as I like to think of him, "OMG THE GUY FROM IDLE HANDS!"

Straight from the press release:

Marvel and Netflix are proud to announce that acclaimed actor Elden Henson has joined "Marvel’s Daredevil," an all-new 13-episode series premiering on Netflix in 2015.

With a diverse body of acclaimed work, including the “Hunger Games” and “Mighty Ducks” franchises, Elden Henson will play Foggy Nelson, Matt Murdock’s best friend and legal partner. In a town full of crime and corruption, Foggy's friendship to the community and passion for improving it have made him a friend to its many residents from all walks of life.

Henson joins Charlie Cox (previously announced as Matt Murdock), Vincent D’Onofrio (previously announced as Wilson Fisk) and Rosario Dawson in the critically-lauded cast of "Marvel’s Daredevil."

“Elden plays one of the most important characters in the world of 'Marvel’s Daredevil,' and we’re thrilled to see Foggy Nelson brought to life by such an incredibly talented actor,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “He perfectly captures the heart and soul of this series, bringing an added resonance to Matt Murdock’s fight against the injustice in their great city.

Yeah, Henson's coming straight from the world of Panem and going direct to the Marvel U. I wouldn't dream of ragging on The Mighty Ducks, but that's pretty huge step up. But will Daredevil be highly-underrated-film-about-a-possessed-hand good? That's the real question.
