Game of Thrones actor teases THAT upcoming epic fight scene: 'you won't be disappointed'

This Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones is bound to be one of the most intense this season has yet to offer as the Red Viper of Dorne is set to face-off in a fight to the death against the vicious Ser Gregor Clegane, a.k.a The Mountain That Rides.

As most of you know, the last episode of Thrones (titled “Mockingbird”) had Prince Oberyn Martell, played by Pedro Pascal, offering to become Tyrion Lannister’s (Peter Dinklage) champion in the Imp’s trial by combat.

Showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff have already teased the scene, calling the upcoming fight sequence “a surreal sight to behold.”

Now it’s Pedro Pascal’s turn to talk about that particular iconic book scene in an interview with Today Online. “I would say that fans of the books who are fans of the show have never been dissatisfied over any of the major events and I can assure you they will not be disappointed for this one,” Pascal said.

The 39-year-old actor admitted that it was a “very harrowing experience” but also “one of the most exciting in my life. We were shooting outside, it’s a pretty large battle and we all wanted to get it right. Nobody got hurt. There were no injuries sustained. There was no heat exhaustion. Everyone was working really hard together and having a great time.”

Pascal also talked about Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson — who became the third person to play the freakishly tall, big and murderous The Mountain as the role was recast (again) for the fourth season of Game of Thrones — saying that the strong man’s physique was why he landed the gig. “I can definitely say there are zero camera tricks used since the actor is six foot nine and 420 pounds of muscle,” Pascal said. “He (was at) a strong man competition held in China, he came back with the title of third strongest man in the world. Physically, it was intimidating, but he’s a very kind person and we got along beautifully.”

We still have two painfully long days to wait before we finally see the Red Viper fight The Mountain, but at least the actor leaves us with his own personal view on his character’s fate, saying “What I would wish for Oberyn Martell is for him to take down all the Lannisters and go hand in hand with his partner, Ellaria Sand, having a party throughout the rest of Westeros.”

Here's a brand-new still previewing the fight scene:

What do you guys think? Who will win the fight between Prince Oberyn Martell of Dorne and Ser Gregor Clegane?
