Watch Yoshitaka Amano draw this stunning art for Ubisoft's new game, Child of Light

Child of Light is already a dazzling game, but getting well-known videogame illustrator Yoshitaka Amano on board takes the whole thing to another level.

We won't know whether the game plays well until the end of this month, but right now it cannot be denied that the painterly, storybook style is absolutely gorgeous. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look at the trailer.

But what's even more exciting, especially if you're a someone of a certain age who grew up on JRPGs, is that Yoshitaka Amano has done his own piece of art inspired by Child of Light. I can remember getting Final Fantasy II (or IV, if you're being correct about it) on the SNES and opening up the box and being greeted by Amano's artwork. He tranformed those sprites into something so much more real. I don't think Cecil and company would have had so much life in them for me without that art.

So, it's amazing watching Amano at work here, making something dedicated to Child of Light.

Ultimately, the game might not live up that art, but who cares, really? Slap that thing on a poster so I can hang it on my wall, because, as always, it is just stunning work from Amano.
