Arrow finale: Oliver forms an unholy alliance to defeat Deathstroke

On May 14, Arrow's second season will come to an explosive end. A lot has happened this year, but the biggest shock is yet to come. The upcoming finale will have Oliver join forces with the most unlikely candidate -- Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law). The last time we saw her, Oliver (Stephen Amell) was nothing more than an obstacle standing between her and Sara (Caity Lotz). To say they weren't on good terms would be an understatement.

So, what changes? Last week, Sara opted to break things off with Oliver and left town. But it won't be the last we see of the littlest Lance. It turns out she went to get reinforcements. With Slade Wilson (Manu Bennet) creating an army of genetically engineered soliders, Oliver's going to need backup. This is where Nyssa comes in. Slade's men may have the strength, but Nyssa's assassins have the skill. The above photo was taken from the finale episode. As you can see, she means business.

We can also expect the return of some other familiar faces. Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) and Shado (Celina Jade) will be back. Since Shado has been the motivation behind Slade's madness, her presence isn't a good sign. On the flipside, it would be great if Waller put some of those Suicide Squad members to work. Oliver's going to need all the help he can get.

Side note: The season finale will feature Bennet, Law and Addai-Robinson, who all previously appeared in Starz's Spartacus.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
