Captain Planet to Star Trek: Celebrate Earth Day with these 8 vintage PSAs

Never underestimate the power of a good public service announcement. In the '80s and '90s, the PSA movement was at its peak. Most of them were targeted toward children as a way to prevent future bad behavior. They educated kids about everything from violence to drugs and, in this case, the environment.

Below, we've dug up eight videos that are anti-pollution, pro-recycling or just pro-Earth. Love the planet, guys. It's the only home we have.

Here are a few wise words from Captain Planet.

He-Man and his pals want you to respect all living things.

Who knew a smart aleck like ALF cared about the environment?

The Muppets have been fans of Earth Day for decades.
