Face Off's fate revealed - is more movie makeup competition coming?

With the sixth season of Face Off wrapping up on April 22, Syfy has made a decision about a potential seventh season of the long-running effects competition series. So is it coming back?

Yes! The network has officially ordered another season of the series, and they’ve already confirmed the theme of season seven will be “Life and Death.” The theme will require contestants to create makeup and costume designs that explore the topics of life, death, rebirth and mortality.

A new judge will also be added to the mix next season, with Oscar-winning makeup artist Lois Burwell (Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan) coming on board to join returning judges Ve Neill, Glenn Hetrick and Neville Page. McKenzie Westmore serves as host of the series, with Michael Westmore as mentor.

When it returns, Face Off will have quite a few new faces to hang out with on the schedule, with shows like Dominion, 12 Monkeys, Ascension, The Expanse, Z Nation and Olympus all in different stages of development — not to mention unscripted fare like Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge, Opposite Worlds, Heroes of Cosplay and Ghost Hunters.

Are you glad to hear that Face Off will be sticking around?
