New Arrow easter egg hints at potentially HUGE DC crossover

One thing we love about the CW’s Arrow is all those really cool easter eggs. After having teased the Flash and Harley Quinn, who's going to be featured next?

Last night, Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim tweeted a very interesting photo that hints at another green-clad superhero’s presence in the show.

Have a look:

Now that’s kinda ... all right, we’ll say it again: It's AWESOME!

What’s less awesome, though, is that the appearance of either Hal Jordan or John Stewart’s Green Lantern is unlikely, since it’s a movie property; but never say never!

Interestingly, Arrow EPs Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim both worked on the script for 2011’s Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern and Blake Lively as Carol Ferris. In the comics and the flick, Carol Ferris, only child of aerospace mogul Carl Ferris, is vice president of Ferris Aircraft, where Hal Jordan is also a test pilot. Hence the geekily fun significance of the pic above.

Earlier this week David Goyer (who wrote Man of Steel) confirmed that there were early "conversations" about potential TV-to-movie DC crossovers. Meaning, one can always hope that Green Lantern and Green Arrow will cross paths and actually share that same universe — much as Marvel is doing with its TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) at large.

So, even if it's highly unlikely now, it's still possible that Green Lantern may appear in a future season of Arrow, or even in its upcoming spinoff, The Flash. And with Warner Bros. and DC also having Gotham in the works on Fox, and Constantine on NBC, one never knows when or where "In brightest day, in darkest night: No evil shall escape my sight" will be uttered again.
