Help crowdfund this (official!) comic-inspired Walking Dead board game

If the comics, TV series and videogames just aren’t giving you enough zombie fun, we have good news — there’s a new Walking Dead board game on the way. Trust us, it’s cool.

Yes, we do realize they cranked out a TV-based board game between seasons one and two, but this is not that. Dubbed The Walking Dead: The Prison, this game is strictly based on the comics, specifically issues 13-24 as the survivors try to clean out and take control of the prison. Even better? It features artwork by series artist Charlie Adlard, and is being made with permission from Skybound Entertainment.

The game would allow up to six players to take control of Rick, Tyreese, Glenn, Dale, Andrea and Michonne as they compete for Leadership Points in an effort to take control of the group as a whole. Players earn leadership points by fighting through the prison, killing zombies and gathering supplies. The mechanics are similar to the 2011 game, and The Prison is technically considered a stand-alone sequel to Z-Man Games’ initial installment.

There’s just one problem: The game is being funded via Kickstarter, and it still has a long way to go before reaching its $81,100 goal. So, if you think it’s cool, get a leg up on a copy of the game and help make it a reality.
