Game of Thrones is famous for many things: great storytelling, amazing characters, dragons, violence, grisly deaths ... and just a little nudity, mostly of the female kind.
But Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow on HBO’s hit fantasy series, is now calling for a more balanced baring of flesh.
The actor told GQ: "It's only right, if you're going to make a show where nudity and sex is a large part of it, that you be a part of that."
So far, we’ve only got a few full-frontal shots of Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy and Kristian Nairn as Hodor (though the actor admitted that he was wearing a prosthetic ... um, piece), while we've seen naked women aplenty, front and back, including several of the show's lead actresses.
Yep, we DID at least get to see a few male backsides over the seasons. Last year we were treated to Jaime Lannister's (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) buttocks, as well as Jon Snow’s (if you guys will recall, it was in that famous cave scene with Ygritte, played by the lovely Rose Leslie). However, it wasn’t Kit’s behind we got to see, but a body double’s. As the actor explains: "When it came down to it, I had a broken ankle, so the only time you saw my a**, it wasn't my a**."
So, would he strip down in front of the camera if the need, erm, arose? Harington said, "I wouldn't say I'd be happy about it. It would have to be f***ing well deserved."
Do you guys agree with Kit Harington? Should there be more male nudity on Game of Thrones?
