Here's the full, cameo-filled cast of that New York-based Sharknado sequel

It sounds like Ian Zierling and Tara Reid will have some company. Production on Sharknado 2: The Second One is set to start in a week, and Syfy has now announced the full, cameo-filled cast list for the New York-based sequel.

The original film became a social media juggernaut when it debuted, with everyone from Damon Lindelof (Lost) to Elizabeth Banks (The LEGO Movie) chiming in about the modern B-movie classic during the initial airing on Twitter. Director Anthony Ferrante (Sharknado) is wanting to go even crazier for the sequel, and he’s signed up a cast list full of familiar faces from all kinds of random places to make it happen.

The cast list for the sequel will include Vivica A. Fox (Kill Bill) as Fin’s high school friend, Mark McGrath (of the band Sugar Ray) as Fin’s brother-in-law, Kelly Osbourne as a flight attendant, comedian Andy Dick as a police officer, Judah Friedlander (30 Rock) as new character Brian and Judd Hirsch (Taxi) as a taxi driver. Yeah, it doesn't get much more insanely random than that.

In case you haven’t heard of Sharknado (and can’t figure it out from the title), the first film focused on a freak weather system that picked up a ton of sharks in a tornado and dumped them on Los Angeles. For part two, the ‘nado will land on New York City, and much of the film will reportedly show off airborne shark attacks at some of Manhattan’s most famous landmarks.

What do you think of the cast list? Can the sequel ever capture the utter insanity of the original when it arrives in July?
