J.K. Rowling announces 12 days of Harry Potter stories for Christmas

It's been seven years since J.K. Rowling published her last Harry Potter novel, but that doesn't mean she's done exploring the wizarding world she created. The Potter universe keeps expanding through Rowling's words thanks to Pottermore, an interactive website where readers can immerse themselves in the Potter novels through clickable games and purchase Potter ebooks. Rowling's been steadily releasing new background material about the Potter world and its characters ever since the site launched, and this year she's been especially generous with new stories. Now she's closing out 2014 with a Christmas gift of even more Potter treats for Pottermore users.

Today Pottermore announced that, beginning Friday, Dec. 12, and continuing through Tuesday, Dec. 23, a new Christmas surprise from Rowling will be unveiled on the site every day at 8 a.m. EST. The announcement promises "wonderful writing by J.K. Rowling in moments from Half-Blood Prince," and we'll reportedly even get a story focusing on Harry Potter's Hogwarts nemesis, Draco Malfoy. We don't know anything else about what exactly Pottermore has in store, but if you're the kind of fan who hangs on every new Potter word Rowling writes, you'll definitely want to be prepared.

To see these Christmas surprises, just visit Pottermore.com on the appointed days, answer the "rhyming riddles" and unlock the holiday treats.
