Latest Amazing Spider-Man 2 viral promo teases two MORE classic villains

If you thought the Amazing Spider-Man universe couldn’t get much bigger, think again. It seems director Marc Webb is adding a few more classic baddies to the mix.

We’ve been hearing for a while that the studio is looking to craft a full-fledged Spidey world for next year’s sequel and all those subsequent follow-ups, and the effort started with the viral promo website for the fictional Daily Bugle newspaper.

We’ve already heard we might get to see The Enforcers at some point, and now the latest article about a midtown heist is dropping major hints about two more members of Spider-Man’s rogues gallery: Shocker and Sin-Eater.

For the uninitiated, Shocker (aka Herman Schultz) is a Stan Lee creation who has been around since the 1960s, with a super-suit that gives him the ability to deflect attacks and fire vibrational air blasts. Sin-Eater (aka Stan Carter) has been around since the mid-1980s, and is a cop who goes rogue and becomes a killer.

Check out an excerpt from the Bugle story below:

A shocking Midtown bank robbery was foiled yesterday by Spider-Man. New York’s superhuman vigilante caught the mechanically augmented robber, suspected in two previous bank heists, as he fled the scene with the stolen loot.

Police arrived on the scene as Spider-Man finished webbing up the suspect, who was arrested and later identified as disgruntled engineer, Herman Schultz. Schultz created wrist-gauntlets that are capable of emitting a vibratory wave of pressure that proved capable of tearing apart a four-foot thick steel vault.

NYPD Special Crimes Unit Detective Stan Carter stated that Schultz had officially been remanded into custody and is being held at the Ravencroft Institute pending his preliminary hearing. When asked how a “disgruntled engineer” could create such dangerous weapons, Carter said, “Shocking, right? All that genius but no escape plan.”

Of course, this doesn't mean all these guys will show up in part two, but it does start laying down some nice threads that could be picked up in future sequels. What do you think? Which baddies do you want to see on the big screen?
