From Walking Dead to Silent Hills: 9 things we learned from Norman Reedus' Reddit AMA

The direct fan connection of a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) is a fascinating thing, and it’s even cooler with an actor as awesome as The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus participating.

Reedus recently conducted a wide-ranging AMA on Reddit, answering a ton of random personal and professional questions. Though he couldn’t go into much detail on what we’ll see when The Walking Dead returns in a few weeks (only hint: “Crazy”), Daryl Dixon’s alter ego did have a lot to say about other things.

From how much me misses some dearly departed cast members to potential storylines that could’ve been, there was a lot of great stuff for fans. We’ve culled through the chat logs to pull nine nifty highlights below:

How often he actually uses his bow and arrow from the show: “very little really . i have a compound bow in georgia i play with quite a bit . there are arrows stuck in all the trees in my backyard”

The latest on upcoming video game Silent Hills, from Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid) and Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy): “im super excited to be a part of that . both those guys are geniuses at what they do . we haven't shot the heavy stuff yet. kojima approached me right after guillermo did”

If he ever thought his Walking Dead character would survive this long: “i didn't to be honest. it was such a well written script i just wanted to be involved in any way possible for however long they would have me around”

His favorite episode of The Walking Dead: “oh man i like a bunch of them . i really think the episode with chad and melissa (Season four’s “The Grove” - Ed) was super well written and acted and directed and was awesome.”

What he would do in the event of a real apocalypse: “i would run . the way my cat runs when i duct tape things”

How much he misses Emily Kinney (aka Beth) on The Walking Dead, on a scale of 1-10: “13” (Awwwwwww - Ed.)

Chances there could’ve been a romance between Daryl and Beth: “there was definitely a taste of it in the air

Some of his favorite scenes to film on The Walking Dead: “favorite episode. oh man there are a lot . i liked stabbing my brother in the face. and falling off that bridge with mel. sitting by the edge of the road against the car talking to rick the morning after he chewed that dudes neck out was one of my favorite scenes to be in”

His take on working the fan convention circuit, and if he plans to stop anytime soon: "i hope not . i think they are really fun. ive had to cancel every once in a while but that was because of work schedules only. i like them and i like meeting everyone and seeing the art they make and the costumes etc. really fun for me”

The Walking Dead returns Sunday, Feb. 8, on AMC.
