What is the creepy message in the Doctor Who Christmas Special?

The latest look at Doctor Who's 2014 Christmas special leaves us with even more questions.

We're now just two weeks away from "Last Christmas," the final Doctor Who episode of 2014, and there are still plenty of mysteries to consider. Will this indeed be the end for Clara Oswald? If it is, will it be because she simply can't be with the Doctor anymore, or because of something darker? Why is Santa fighting aliens? Will we ever hear more from Danny Pink? Obviously, showrunner Steven Moffat and company are keen to keep these kinds of questions unanswered until the episode airs on Christmas night, and trailers for the special have kept things suitably mysterious.

Now a new, short teaser for "Last Christmas" has landed, and while anyone who's watched the previous trailers will see some familiar sights (doors opening to reveal a little boy, mysterious creatures sitting up, the Doctor asking "Who you gonna call?" and so on), there are a couple of new moments worth savoring. See if you spot them:

For one, there's Santa (Nick Frost) appearing and asking, "What seems to be the problem?" Not exactly a new clue to the plot, but a nice moment anyway. Then there's the big one: Clara tries and apparently fails to erase a message on a blackboard, and the message is "You Are Dying."

Where did that come from? Well, we know this particular Doctor's fond of keeping a blackboard in the TARDIS control room, so maybe he wrote the message, or maybe someone or something snuck into the TARDIS and put it there. As for who's dying, well, it could be anyone. The episode's called "Last Christmas," after all. Is this another clue lending itself to the rumor of Clara's demise? We can speculate for the next two weeks, and we probably will, but we likely won't know for sure until "Last Christmas" airs on BBC America on Christmas Day.
