Official plot synopses and teaser poster for Agent Carter's two-part premiere

Marvel has released the official plot synopses for the first two episodes of its upcoming series Agent Carter, revealing a couple of intriguing plot details along the way. Meanwhile, they've also unveiled a very stylish, retro-cool teaser poster featuring Hayley Atwell’s Peggy.

As some of you guys may already know, the first two episodes of Agent Carter are set to air back to back on ABC when the series premieres right after the new year on Jan. 6, 2015.

The first episode is titled “Now Is Not the End” and was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and directed by Louis D’Esposito. This is the official plot synopsis:

Peggy is contacted by old acquaintance Howard Stark when he is framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons and can trust no one else. To help Peggy clear Stark’s name, he insists his butler, Edwin Jarvis, be at her beck and call -- whether she likes it or not. But the risk is great: If caught, Agent Carter could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison … or worse.

The second episode, titled “Bridge and Tunnel,” was penned by Eric Pearson and directed by Joseph Russo. Here’s the synopsis:

Howard Stark’s deadliest weapon has fallen into enemy hands, and only Agent Carter can recover it. But can she do so before her undercover mission is discovered by SSR Chief Dooley and Agent Thompson?

Marvel's Agent Carter stars Hayley Atwell as Captain America’s former lady love Agent Peggy Carter, James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Chad Michael Murray as Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as Agent Daniel Sousa and Shea Whigham as Chief Roger Dooley.

Dominic Cooper is, of course, back as Howard Stark, and the premiere two-parter will also guest-star Lyndsy Fonseca as Angie Martinelli and fan fave James Frain as Leet Brannis.

Marvel also released a new teaser poster showing Peggy ready for some undercover action that's got a very stylish, pulp-fiction, noir vibe to it, and we totally dig it. Especially the red hat. Have a look:

So, are you guys excited for Agent Carter? Will you be tuning in?
