Video of astronauts playing with bubbles in zero gravity is so awesome

To remind us all of the endless wonder that is space, NASA has released some footage taken during Expedition 40 in the summer of 2014 aboard the International Space Station. The clip features NASA astronauts Steve Swanson and Reid Wiseman — plus European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst — essentially playing around with a GoPro video camera and water.

Yeah, that recipe admittedly sounds a little weird. But in zero gravity it makes something absolutely breathtaking. The best part? When they submerge a sealed GoPro camera into a floating ball of water and let it drift around the cabin. So. Freaking. Cool.

It’s absolutely amazing to watch how the water reacts in zero gravity, and it’s amazing to see this happen in real life (as opposed to the typical CGI we’re used to in sci-fi flicks like Gravity). Check out the footage below and let us know what you think:
