Jurassic World is just seven months away from release, and yesterday saw the arrival of a boatload of images, two websites -- and a countdown.
First, the images: They come from a viral site called Masrani Global, which purports to be the official site of the construction company tasked with building the new Jurassic World theme park. The site contains this reference to that fact in this excerpt from the park's history (via Slashfilm):
Soon after the acquisition of InGen in 1998, Simon Masrani looked to work at a plan that seemed impossible given the circumstances of the years preceeding -- the control and re-invention of a new theme park on Isla Nublar. Experts from the Masrani company were collected together, along with Dr. Henry Wu from the InGen company, to plan for the greatest theme park and attractions ever constructed in humankind’s history.
Some of the images feature actors B.D. Wong (returning from the original Jurassic Park) and Irrfan Khan, as well as a batch of other tantalizing photos from the InGen/Masrani labs and the reconstructed park site at Isla Nublar.
Meanwhile, Comic Book Movie has unearthed two shots of what appears to be the LEGO version of the movie's new dinosaur, created by geneticists and labeled the "D-Rex." The thing looks scary enough as a toy -- it should be pretty terrifying in the movie.
Finally, the film's official website has opened for business and features on its homepage a clock counting down to 9:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, Nov. 27 (Thanksgiving). There's a football game that night on NBC -- which is part of the same corporation as Jurassic World's studio, Universal Pictures (and, it should be noted, Blastr) -- so it's not too great a leap of speculation to deduce that the movie's first trailer might hit NBC at that time.
Check out all the images below and keep an eye on those sites. Jurassic World, directed by Colin Trevorrow and starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Judy Greer, Vincent D'Onofrio, B.D. Wong, Irrfan Khan and Ty Simpkins, opens in theaters June 12, 2015.
