CONFIRMED: Stan Lee's getting an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cameo

That inevitable Stan the Man cameo is on its way to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

A couple of months ago, while discussing some future developments in the ABC series, executive producer Jed Whedon told us there was a "strong chance" that Stan Lee, co-creator of massive chunks of the Marvel universe and cameo actor extraordinaire, would make an appearance on the show. That surprised no one. Lee never misses a chance to pop up in a Marvel property, whether he's pretending to be Larry King in Iron Man 2 or asking for his shoe back in Thor: The Dark World, and you can bet he enthusiastically pursued a small-screen cameo too. Now it's happening.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed today that Lee will have what The Man himself describes as a "big role" in an upcoming episode of the series that will likely air Feb. 4. They also shared the photo below, featuring Lee, executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen and stars Clark Gregg (Coulson) and Elizabeth Henstridge (Simmons).

As usual, who Lee's playing and what he'll be doing are being kept secret for now, but we're all seasoned Stan Lee spotters by now, right? So tune in next month and check out his inevitable, but always appreciated, guest appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
