Intelligence starts huge, Dracula slips + 45 other genre shows

Two new shows debuted this week, and one of them just happened to be the biggest series premiere of the season.

Intelligence skyrocketed to the top of the 2013-2014 premieres list when it posted the best numbers of any new show this season. Meanwhile, Syfy's Helix premiere put up solid but not impressive numbers in its debut, The Big Bang Theory continued to dominate, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. got a small boost and Dracula continued to slip.

Check out the numbers and commentary below to see how your favorite shows are doing in Live + Same Day ratings.

MONDAY, January 6

Sleepy Hollow (FOX) -- Returns January 13

Beauty and the Beast (CW) -- Returns January 13

Almost Human (FOX) 6.35 million viewers/1.8/5 share

Almost Human returned to a nice boost in viewers and ratings, but it's still far lower than it was when it premiered. It's not in cancellation territory yet, but if we see more losses like what 2013 gave us, it could get there.

Teen Wolf (MTV) 2.42 million viewers/0.9

Teen Wolf launched the second half of its third season with viewership numbers better than even the season premiere back in June, though the demo score was slightly lower. We'll see if this is the start of more growth for the show.

TUESDAY, January 7

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC) 6.63 million viewers/2.2/6 share

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s first 2014 episode fared a bit better than its last 2013 one, but not much. It's still struggling compared to its debut, but don't be fooled. The odds that we'll see more of this show are still solid.

Person of Interest (CBS) 12.10 million viewers/2.0/6 share

Person of Interest lost a bit off its viewership in its 2014 return, but it remains a consistently strong show for CBS.

Intelligence (CBS) 16.49 million viewers/2.4/6 share

Intelligence got off to a fantastic start last week, posting the best premiere numbers of any new series in the 2013-2014 season so far, winning its timeslot and finishing second on the night overall, behind network-mate and lead-in NCIS. Next week it moves to Monday and a whole new set of competition. We'll see if it stays strong.

Supernatural (CW) -- Returns January 14

The Originals (CW) -- Returns January 14

Ravenswood (ABC Family) 1.69 million viewers/0.7

Ravenswood returned for 2014 to post its best episode since the series premiere. We'll see if it can hold on to these higher numbers and get more life at ABC Family.

WEDNESDAY, January 8

American Horror Story: Coven (FX) 3.48 million viewers/1.8

Coven returned this week for its lowest-rated and least-watched episode of the third season so far, but while that's the bad news, the good news is that the show is still performing better overall than the hit second season did.

Arrow (CW) -- Returns January 15

Revolution (NBC) 5.93 million viewers/1.5/5 share

Revolution's first 2014 episode was better than its last 2013 outing. That's a good sign, but this show is still fighting for its life.

The Tomorrow People (CW) -- Returns January 15

DreamWorks' Dragons: Defenders of Berk (TOON) 1.81 million viewers/0.5

Dragons returned for 2014 with an episode stronger than anything else this season so far, and as we get closer to the release of the How to Train Your Dragon sequel, it's likely to grow even more.

THURSDAY, January 9

The Big Bang Theory (CBS) 20.35 million viewers/5.7/17 share

The Big Bang Theory had a great return last week, and this week it grew even more. There's just no stopping it.

Elementary (CBS) 9.97 million viewers/2.0/6 share

Elementary climbed again this week to post its best numbers since early October.

The Vampire Diaries (CW) -- Returns January 23

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (ABC) -- Returns March 6

FRIDAY, January 10

Dracula (NBC) 2.47 million viewers/0.7/2 share

Dracula dropped once again this week for its worst episode ever. This one's in trouble.

Grimm (NBC) 5.33 million viewers/1.3/4 share

Grimm slipped a bit in its second week back, but it still had a strong night.

The Neighbors (ABC) 4.81 million viewers/1.1/4 share

The Neighbors returned to a small boost, but it's still very low overall, and it doesn't seem like it can grow its way out of it.

Helix (Syfy) 1.82 million viewers/0.6

Syfy's new thriller series debuted to OK numbers Friday, but these ratings can't touch the last major Syfy debut, Defiance. Still, it's got room and time to grow, so we'll see how the coming weeks go.
