Watch the weirdness that happens when 55 fans team up to remake RoboCop

It’s become almost a cliche to make a low-budget sweded version of a trailer, but these 55 ingenious RoboCop fans have take it to whole new levels of awesomeness.

By crowdsourcing the effort, these would-be filmmakers have blended everything from action figures to 8-bit to CGI, live action and everything in between to make a truly weird and fantastically fun teaser trailer for a homemade remake of the original film. It’s seriously bizarre, but in a good way, much along the lines of Star Wars Uncut.

The footage is definitely creative, and it’s easy to see these folks are having a good time. The creators say the idea developed after they found themselves “rolling [their] eyes at the Hollywood remake machine.” They've turned out some nice homages to the classic film, which shine through all the different media.
