Sleepy Hollow starts strong, Dome ends high + 34 other genre shows

Premiere season is upon us, and one new genre show is off to a very good start.

Sleepy Hollow premiered on Fox last Monday and manage to win the night in the key 18-49 demographic and pull in quite a few curious viewers. We'll see in the coming weeks how many of those viewers it can retain. Meanwhile, Under the Dome put up some very strong numbers in its season one finale, The Neighbors made a lackluster return, and Haven kept kicking on Syfy.

Also, you might have noticed that the number of shows on the list this week has dropped. That's because we cut out all the canceled and completed shows from last season to make room for this season's new shows. The more series premieres we get in the coming weeks, the higher that number will climb. Check back next week for coverage of even more brand new genre shows.

Check out the numbers and commentary below to see how your favorite shows are doing in Live + Same Day ratings.

MONDAY, September 16

Under the Dome (CBS) 12.10 million viewers/2.8/8 share

Under the Dome wrapped up its first season with the second best viewership of its run so far, behind only the stellar series premiere, and some of the best ratings it's ever had. The show never had fewer than 9.7 million viewers this year, and the finale definitely proves it's got plenty of energy going into season two.

Sleepy Hollow (FOX) 10.10 million viewers/3.5/9 share

Fox's new supernatural drama had a great premiere last Monday, winning the night in terms of its key demo rating (though not in terms of total viewers). We'll see if it can hold on to all those young viewers going foward.

FRIDAY, September 20

Haven (Syfy) 1.36 million viewers/0.4

Haven lost a few viewers after a solid premiere last week, but still held on to a good demo score. So far the numbers are still tracking a little lower than last year's, but only a little, and there's plenty of time to get a boost.

The Neighbors (ABC) 4.64 million viewers/1.2/4 share

The alien-infused sitcom returned for its second season with numbers lower than any episode in season one put up, and with only about half the viewers of the season one premiere. That doesn't mean the show is doomed, but it's not a good way to start off, especially when you consider how many other shows will be offering stiffer competition as they premiere over the next few weeks.
