Meet the heroes and villains of BBC’s new fantasy series Atlantis

Atlantis is about to rise -- and soon! Ready to embark on another myths-and-heroes-filled legendary journey?

This new 13-part series was created by Howard Overman (the creator and writer of the truly awesome Misfits) and is brought to us by Merlin’s production team.

Atlantis—meant to occupy Merlin's Saturday evening spot—is sure to be filled with romance, bromance, drama and adventure, sprinkled with some mythological beasts and monsters to boot.

Just how we like them.

(The last time we had a similar series was in the good ol' days of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess. Gosh! We don't know about you, but we truly miss those two series. But we digress, again.)

Boasting a fantastic cast, we’re hopeful that Atlantis will manage to sweep us off our feet.

So are you guys ready to meet the cast? Have a look at the gallery below to see the who's who of Atlantis.

Atlantis will debut on BBC One (in the U.K.) on Sept. 28, and on BBC America on Nov. 23. Will you be watching?
