Game of Thrones gets a 8-bit fan game better than the actual licensed ones

Winter is coming is coming ... in eight frozen bits!

Game of Thrones has spawned some games, yes, but none of them have quite captured the flavor of the book and TV series. So imagine our surprise when this classic platformer game managed to exceed our expectations. It's being called the 8-bit Game of Thrones, but the style itself is more reminiscent of the Super Nintendo's 16-bit color palette. That doesn't make it any less cool, though.

Spanish comic artist Abel Alves has crafted a game that may not tell the entirety of the story, but what it lacks in depth it makes up for in character. You'll be delighted to know that when you play as Jon Snow, one of your weapons is Ghost, your faithful dire wolf, who you repeatedly hurl at enemies. And that's just the start.

Looks like, in addition to Jon Snow, you'll also play as Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister. We love a classic platformer, and what makes this especially tempting is that it doesn't cost a dime. So while you wait for more Game of Thrones, feel free to pick up a free copy of this throwback right here.
