Who's 50th will feature biggest explosions ever seen on the show

Watch out, Daleks! You're about to be blown sky-high.

Much of Doctor Who's 50th-anniversary special remains a mystery, just as it should. But we've known for a wee bit now that the Daleks will play a role in the episode. Now we know one other thing -- they're going to explode, and it'll be on a scale we've never seen before.

This news comes from Voice of the Daleks, runner of Big Finish Audio and contender for biggest Whovian on the planet Nicholas Briggs.

There were some big, big explosions. The biggest explosions I’ve ever seen on Doctor Who when they were shooting the bits with the Daleks. And I suddenly got a feeling of what it might be like to be in a warzone!

As you might expect, bigger explosions will mean more complex sets and, likely, a lot more Daleks.

The set-ups with the Daleks are the most spectacular, ambitious set-ups I’ve ever worked on on Doctor Who. It was like being in a huge movie. It was enormous. There was rubble everywhere!

So, while we can't guarantee a thing, it's very likely this means the 50th will finally be showing us that Time War we've been hearing about since 2005. John Hurt will probably do something without choice, in the name of peace and sanity. And, perhaps, that will involve a ton of exploding Daleks. Sounds like fun!
