Well, this will just never die.
Seems that Dark Knight actor Christian Bale has been offered a VERY lucrative deal to reprise the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in Zack Snyder's upcoming Batman vs Superman or Superman vs Batman—whatever the heck they’re gonna call it—flick.
Warner Bros. is said to have offered $50 million to Bale to reprise the role. That’s a boatload of money right there.
A little over a month ago, Bale said, again, that he was done with playing Batman and that he wouldn’t be in the planned Justice League movie. If one wants to get technical, one could argue that the planned Batman vs Superman film isn't JL, right?
Author Vince Russel has claimed in his new eBook Beyond Batman: The Unauthorized True Story of Christian Bale and His Dark Knight Dilemma that Bale was not out of the running just yet. He wrote that Bale was under "extraordinary pressure" to reprise the role of Batman in the Man of Steel sequel.
Recently, actors Max Martini (Pacific Rim), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Josh Brolin (Men in Black 3), Matthew Goode (The Watchmen), Richard Armitage (The Hobbit), Ryan Gosling (Drive) and Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit) have all been rumored to be in the running for the Batman role in Batman vs Superman.
Batman vs Superman is scheduled to be released in 2015. Shooting for the movie could start as soon as early as 2014.
What do you guys think? Do you think Warner Bros. is really trying to get Christian Bale back by offering him an insane amount of cash? And if so, do you think Bale will bite? Would you rather have a new actor in the role?
