Wolverine just the beginning: Fox eyeing '5-10' X-Men spinoffs

It sounds like that X-Force movie might be just the beginning, because 20th Century Fox is finally ready to capitalize on all those X-Men properties.

Mark Millar, who is serving as a consultant on 20th Century Fox’s Marvel properties (most notably the X-Men stuff), opened up with Collider about the grand scheme they’re working toward with everything from The Wolverine to Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Most intriguing? He thinks there could be 5-10 major franchises that could spin out of the X-Men universe, similar to what Marvel itself has done with its remaining properties and The Avengers.

Here’s an excerpt:

“We're not talking crossovers or anything just yet; the idea is to build it quietly in its own way and bring in the best possible talent but you're right - Marvel sold the X-Men franchises back in the '90s when they needed the cash but you have to remember they were the crown jewels...

The reason they got snapped up is that they were Marvel's best-selling book really for 20 years. So we're sitting on gold right now. Very vaguely, we are talking about lots of possibilities but I think there's a good five to ten golden franchises in there.”

Considering how much the comic-book movie market has grown in recent years, it makes sense Fox would finally want to pump some resources into X-Men and give it a go. So, which X-Men or X-teams do you want to see on the big screen next?
