So here’s what Ryan Gosling had to say about those Star Wars: VII rumors

After rumors arose that Ryan Gosling was meeting up with J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm to discuss a role in Star Wars: Episode VII, the whole thing’s now being—what else?

DENIED. Yep, it is.

Merely two days ago, Latino Review was reporting that Canadian actor Gosling was vying for the role of Luke Skywalker’s (Mark Hamill) son in the eagerly anticipated Star Wars sequel. It didn’t take too long to get a response to those—we have to admit—rather interesting rumors.

“This is not true,” a Ryan Gosling representative wrote in an email to HuffingtonPost Entertainment.

The same article from Latino Review also made mention of Zac Efron also being considered for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII. So whether that's true remains to be seen.

As for Gosling, the actor has apparently expressed a desire to retire from acting for a little while, saying back in March that: "I've been doing it too much. I've lost perspective on what I'm doing. I think it's good for me to take a break and reassess why I'm doing it and how I'm doing it. And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that. I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does."

So are you bummed out that Ryan Gosling is not pursuing a role for Star Wars: Episode VII? Would you have liked to see him as Luke Skywalker’s son?
