Did Snyder sneak a Christopher Reeve cameo into Man of Steel?

From Wayne Enterprises to LexCorp, Zack Snyder snuck more than enough DC cameos into Man of Steel. But did he also drop in (arguably) the most beloved Superman of all?

A Redditor has apparently spotted a subtle CGI cameo that drops Christopher Reeve’s face in while Superman is pushing through the beams of the World Engine in the final act of the film. With star Henry Cavill engulfed in CGI rays, his face appears to ever-so-briefly morph into Reeve’s.

Of course, Reeve played Superman on the big screen in the 1970s and 1980s before passing away in 2004.

It’s fleeting, but the below animated GIF seems to capture the moment pretty well. Just look closely:

If this is true, it’s just the latest in a long line of neat easter eggs slipped in to pay homage to the lengthy Superman lore. If this is legit, do you think it was a neat thing to do? Does it help take the sting off that controversial ending?
