True Blood starts high, Falling Skies drops + 47 other genre shows

One of HBO's top shows is back, and it still has its bite.

True Blood kicked off its sixth season Sunday with very strong numbers, though it couldn't match season premieres past. Meanwhile, TNT's Falling Skies took a very sharp fall in the second week of its third season, Zero Hour returned to burn off its final episodes on Saturday nights, Hannibal hit a new low, and Defiance and Warehouse 13 both got boosts.

Check out the numbers and commentary below to see how your favorite shows are doing in Live + Same Day ratings.

Warehouse 13 got a very nice boost this week after a bit of a slump, picking up both viewers and two tenths of a point in its demo score.

Teen Wolf dropped a few viewers in its second season-three episode, but it held on to its demo score for a very good week.

666 Park Avenue's final four episodes will show up this summer on ABC, then it's done.

True Blood (HBO) 4.52 million viewers/2.4

True Blood returned Sunday for its sixth season, and put up some very strong numbers to win the Sunday night cable battle. It's not where it was last season, though. It lost more than half a million viewers and half a ratings point from last season's premiere, and if it keeps up numbers on this level it's now firmly in second place behind Game of Thrones on the HBO ladder.

Falling Skies (TNT) 2.79 million viewers/1.0

Falling Skies took a rather steep drop in the second week of its third season, losing more than 1 million viewers and half a point off its demo score. It could be a fleeting slump, but it could also be the start of a trend. We'll see if the show can bounce back.
