Thrones ends strong, Continuum starts high + 47 other genre shows

The summer shows are rolling in.

This week we added three brand-new series to our lineup (Syfy's Sinbad and Primeval: New World and BBC America's In The Flesh) and saw the return of several more, including a very impressive season-two debut for Continuum, a solid season-three premiere for Falling Skies and a very strong return for Teen Wolf. Meanwhile, Game of Thrones ended its third season on a very high note, and Revolution said goodbye until season two.

Check out the numbers and commentary below to see how your favorite shows are doing in Live + Same Day ratings.

MONDAY, June 3

Defiance (Syfy) 1.69 million viewers/0.6

Defiance slipped again in its return, hitting a new low in viewers, but even with the drop it's still putting up strong numbers.

Warehouse 13 (Syfy) 1.35 million viewers/0.3

Warehouse 13 picked up viewers but slipped a little in its demo score. Still, it's holding its own with the rest of the Monday night crowd.

Revolution (NBC) 6.17 million viewers/2.0/5 share

Revolution dropped a few viewers but picked up its highest demo score in a month to close out the season finale. The second half of the season didn't perform as well as the first, but it was enough to earn the show a chance to come back. We'll see it again this fall.

Teen Wolf (MTV) 2.36 million viewers/1.0

Teen Wolf delivered its highest viewership ever for its season-three premiere, and turned in a very strong demo score. We'll see if that strength will continue throughout its third year.

THURSDAY, June 6

Hannibal (NBC) 2.36 million viewers/0.9/3 share

Hannibal slipped again to earn its lowest rating ever, but it's not done yet, and a second season is still happening.

Save Me (NBC) 2.76 million viewers/0.7/2 share

Save Me got a boost in its third week in both viewers and ratings, but it's still struggling. We'll see if it can keep gaining and earn a little more faith from us.

In The Flesh (BBCA) NIGHT ONE: 0.172 million viewers/0.1 -- NIGHT TWO: 0.108 million viewers/0.1 -- NIGHT THREE: 0.137 million viewers/0.1

This BBC zombie series came to America in one three-night, miniseries-style block, and the numbers were solid but not stellar. Night one delivered the best numbers, so it's possible some viewers just got a little fatigued heading into the next two nights (Friday and Saturday). Still, the numbers aren't bad for a network of BBC America's size, and the BBC has already commissioned a second batch of episodes, so there's a good chance we'll see this show back in the States again.

FRIDAY, June 7

Continuum (Syfy) 1.42 million viewers/0.4

Continuum moved to Friday night for its second season on Syfy, and the move seemed to pay off for the season premiere. The show earned the highest viewership ever in its time on the network, and tied its highest-ever ratings score. That's a good sign for a show hoping to avoid a sophomore slump.

Da Vinci's Demons (Starz) 0.38 million viewers/0.1

Da Vinci's Demons took a drop for its season-one finale, tying its series low for viewers and hitting a new low with its demo score. The finale had less than half the viewers and only a quarter of the demo score of the series premiere back in April, but Starz was confident enough back then to order a very early renewal for the series. That renewal may come back to bite the network, but for the moment we can look forward to new episodes next year.

Primeval: New World (Syfy) 1.33 million viewers/0.3

Primeval: New World also put up very respectable numbers in its Saturday debut. But can it last?

SUNDAY, June 9

666 Park Avenue (ABC) — OFF

666 Park Avenue's final four episodes will show up this summer on ABC, then it's done.

Game of Thrones (HBO) 5.39 million viewers/2.9

Game of Thrones closed out its third season with another huge night, tying its series high for demo score and earning its second-highest viewership ever. This season cemented the show as one of the biggest cable dramas out there, and depending on how True Blood does this summer, it could reign as HBO's top show. We'll see it again next year.

Falling Skies (TNT) 4.21 million viewers/1.5

Falling Skies returned for its third season with its weakest season premiere yet, but those numbers are still quite strong, strong enough to keep it one of the Sunday night cable shows even on a night when Game of Thrones ruled everything. That's saying something about this show's staying power.
