Matt Smith finally confirms: He'll be BACK for Doctor Who S8

It seems like we’re always wondering when the next Doctor, or next showrunner, will be falling in line for Doctor Who. But it sounds like Matt Smith isn’t going anywhere — at least not until after season eight.

Smith is locked in for 2014 — though the same can’t be said about showrunner Steven Moffat, apparently. He’s off shooting a feature film for a few months, but after the Christmas special is wrapped up, he says he’s returning in 2014 for the next series.

Here’s his statement, via The Sun:

“I’m on a break for a couple of months while I’m in Detroit making How To Catch A Monster. We come back and shoot the Christmas special over the summer, then we go on to the next series, which will either start filming at the end of this year or at the start of 2014.”

So, are you glad to hear that Smith will keep rolling around in the T.A.R.D.I.S. for at least another series?
