Benedict Cumberbatch breaks our hearts in leaked Star Trek 2 footage

So far, the performance of Benedict Cumberbatch as Star Trek Into Darkness’ big bad villain has garnered some very positive media feedback: That is, the guy’s awesome.

But don’t just take our word for it. Now you can see a scene complete with dramatic monologue and some manly tears to boot. (We do love ourselves some manly tears.)

[Possible spoilers ahead.]

How can Capt. Kirk (Chris Pine) and the emotionally compromised Vulcan Mr. Spock (Zachary Quinto) resist such a totally gut-wrenching monologue? Especially with Benedict’s marvelous, velvety voice? Yeah, we'd listen to him recite the phone book.

Just to warn you, this leaked tidbit reveals the link between Adm. Marcus (RoboCop’s Peter Weller) and Cumby's villain. (Oh, who are we kidding? KHAN. There. Said it.)
