1st unsettling look at Jonathan Rhys Meyers in NBC's Dracula series

NBC's lavish new Dracula drama doesn't debut until this fall, but three set shots of the famed bloodsucker seducing Olde London have recently been released by the network.   Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors) stars in the 10-episode series as the undead Wallachian prince in these charismatic photos.

The production has been filming in Budapest and also stars Thomas Kretschmann (King Kong, Wanted) as the vampire hunter Van Helsing, Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Raven, Going the Distance) as Jonathan Harker and Nonso Anozie (Game of Thrones) playing Renfield.  Dracula is slated to be unleashed in the coveted Friday night programming slot from 10 p.m.-11 p.m. beginning in September.  It's being produced by former 24 producer Tony Krantz, Collin Callender (ex-president of HBO Films), Anne Mensah, Reece Pearson and Downton Abbey producer Gareth Neame.  Creator Cole Haddon will serve as writer and co-executive producer.

Here's the official synopsis:

It's the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He's especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night - useful for someone who avoids the sun. But he has another reason for his travels: he hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan... until he becomes infatuated with a woman named Mina Murray (Jessica De Gouw) who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.

Frothing at the mouth for a lush new Dracula show or time to put the thirsty immortal to bed?
