Alien ship tears through the sky in latest Man of Steel trailer

Man of Steel - TV Spot #1

The first TV spot for Man of Steel has been released, and it amps up the action to show this is definitely a new take on the Last Son of Krypton.

The 30-second trailer takes the more exciting footage from those other trailers and makes a more action-packed cut, tossing in a few extra snippets of those massive FX shots, including a Kryptonian ship crashing through the sky.

The studio has also released a tweaked version of the film’s synopsis, which teases the hero’s journey we can expect to see in Zack Snyder’s take on Superman:

"A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind."

Man of Steel opens June 14. Do you think this can be the film to put Superman back on top?
