Thrones starts high, Walking Dead ends higher + 40 other genre shows

It was a big, big week for TV geeks.

Three of the biggest genre shows on TV rolled out pivotal episodes, and all three of them did very well. The Walking Dead hit a new series high with its season-three finale, while Game of Thrones also set a series record with its season-three premiere. Meanwhile Doctor Who and Orphan Black also put up strong numbers, and The Neighbors got a boost for its season finale.

MONDAY, March 25th

Being Human (Syfy) 1.16 million viewers/0.6

Being Human got a nice boost in viewers and an even nicer boost in ratings, for its best week in two months.

Lost Girl (Syfy) 0.82 million viewers/0.3

Lost Girl dipped a bit again this week, but the numbers are still pretty solid, and it's easily rebounded from slumps like this before.

Bates Motel (A&E) 2.84 million viewers/1.3

Every time a new show has a strong debut we have to hold our breath and see how it does in the second week. Well, Bates Motel fans can breathe easy. The A&E series only lost a few of week one's viewers, and more importantly it broke even with its demo rating. This one's still strong.

Revolution (NBC) 7.03 million viewers/2.6/7 share

After a very, very long hiatus Revolution returned to NBC last Monday with strong but not stellar numbers. It was one of the show's worst-rated episodes so far, but it still won its timeslot in demo score, so it's definitely still got some fight in it.

The Neighbors (ABC) 5.52 million viewers/1.5/5 share

The Neighbors got a boost to its viewers and its ratings for the season finale. Its future is still uncertain, but it wouldn't be surprising to see it get a renewal.

The Walking Dead (AMC) 12.41 million viewers/6.4

The Walking Dead closed out its third season with another record-setting episode, hitting new highs in both viewers and ratings and dominating Sunday night once again. It seems like there's no limit to how high this show can climb, but can the season-four premiere this fall possibly top this?

Game of Thrones (HBO) 4.4 million viewers/2.4

Though it couldn't touch Walking Dead levels, Game of Thrones also returned to a series high in viewers and ratings, earning it an early fourth-season order. Last year the show started strong and ended stronger. This year the show hit a new high even when facing off against AMC's zombies, so now the question is: Can it keep rising?
