Kirk goes low-budget in hilarious Star Trek Into Darkness sweding

Star Trek Into Darkness New Trailer - Homemade Shot for Shot

Sweding a superhero movie is one thing, but tackling a deep-space epic like Star Trek Into Darkness is a whole other matter. Want to see the Enterprise made of Hot Wheels cars and cardboard?

The low-budget meme of re-creating big-budget trailers with nothing but household items, cardboard and action figures has been a fun one to follow the past year or so, and they only seem to be getting more and more creative.

This take on Into Darkness comes from the veteran CineFix team, who seem to be cranking out a great new short every time you turn around.

Considering how FX-heavy the Trek trailers have been, the guys had their work cut out for them to make this one work. But from cardboard cityscapes to airlocks and ship models, they somehow make it happen. It's a treat just to see the solutions to all those space shots and zipping ships.

For the sake of comparison, here is the sweded trailer side by side with the original, to show just how close they nailed the shot-by-shot remake:

Which film would you like to see get sweded next?
