New clip for Meyer's The Host digs deeper into weird alien world

Stephenie Meyer has already proven she can inspire a box-office bonanza with her Twilight series, but we’ll know soon enough if the magic translates from sexy vampires to tense alien invasions.

A new featurette has been released that goes behind the scenes of Meyer’s latest book-turned-movie, The Host, which breaks down the visual style of a very unique type of alien invasion.

Director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, In Time) brings a solid sci-fi resume to the project, and a pretty cool look, judging by the footage here.

The story will follow Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan), one of the last humans left on earth battling it out against a parasitic alien force.

The Host is set to hit theaters March 29. Do you plan on checking it out?
