Finally! HBO announces when True Blood's returning to our TV screens

Yes, Game of Thrones is starting this Sunday, but what we really want to know now is just when the sixth season of True Blood will make its bloody return to our TV screens, right?

Well, HBO has revealed just when we’ll return to Bon Temps and get to see what’s happening next with our fave faerie-telepathic waitress, Sookie (Anna Paquin), hunky Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) and newly minted Vampire-God Bill (Stephen Moyer), as well as a score more beloved characters.

And the date is ... June 16!

We’re thrilled to know when we’ll finally get to sink our teeth into season six.

The great news follows in the wake of the real-life drama that arose from the abrupt departure of Alan Ball's  showrunner replacement Mark Hudis (in the midst of shooting season six, no less), who was promptly replaced by writer-producer Brian Buckner; plus the release of some pretty cool pics of new guest stars, sci-fi god Rutger Hauer as Macklyn and new resident hunk Rob Kazinsky as Sookie's new faerie boytoy beau Ben.

So are you looking forward to returning to Bon Temps on June 16?
