In the wake of Veronica Mars’ unlikely revival, fans and stars alike have been going Kickstarter crazy with talk about bringing beloved shows back to life. Luckily for Chuck fans, Zachary Levi is putting his money (and his career) where his mouth is.
Levi, who starred in the beloved but perennially low-rated spy-fi NBC series, told Next Movie that he’s already planning to sit down the show’s creators and the network to see if they’d be open to bringing the show back for a movie of some kind.
Fans, save your Subway money, because you might need to start shipping it off to a Kickstarter campaign soon:
"I've always thought doing a Chuck movie would be fun. If we had just gone straight to monetizing it and selling it directly to the fans then, we might still actually be on the air.
[But] there's a lot of conversations that need to happen. I'm going to sit down with [producers] Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak and just kind of gauge their temperature on it. See how much they'd want to be involved. Of course, I'd only want to do it with the blessing of them, they created the show, and the blessing of Warner Bros."
Here’s hoping Schwartz and Fedak are as excited as Levi to get this rolling, because the time is right for one last adventure. Plus, unlike a space-set show like Firefly, Chuck would likely be more affordable (ala Veronica Mars) to pull off on a small budget.
Do you think Team Bartowski will be able to reunite for one final mission?
