Revealing new Oblivion footage goes inside Cruise's awesome ship

The upcoming sci-fi flick Oblivion is shooting for a very different visual style than the Blade Runners of the world, and a new clip breaks down Tom Cruise’s unique new spaceship.

The Joseph Kosinski-directed film finds Cruise as one of the last men on Earth, working as a drone repairman on post-apocalypse Earth. At least until a ship crashes and a massive mystery unfolds.

In the buildup to the April 19 opening, the studio has released a new featurette to go inside how Cruise’s uniquely-styled bubble ship works. It’s one of the most creative ship designs in modern sci-fi, and should be great to see on the big screen.

The best part? We also get some new ship-flying footage, which is always a nice distraction.

In addition to Cruise, the film also stars Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Olga Kurylenko, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Melissa Leo.
