Things don't look so good for Kirk in 5 new pics from Star Trek 2

Friday, the cast of Star Trek Into Darkness will grace the cover of Entertainment Weekly. But before its debut, the magazine's released five new photos from the sequel. They include resident villain John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch), Capt. Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto) and Uhura (Zoe Saldana). 

Are we the only ones noticing the similarities between Into Darkness and The Avengers? There's a scene where both Loki and Harrison are locked in clear containment cells. Now there's a photo of Harrison walking down a hall surrouded by guards. We remember a similar image of Loki as he was brought onto the Helicarrier.

Either way, Harrison's a very bad man. Co-writer Alex Kurtzman describes him as a "member of Starfleet who turns on Starfleet.'' It sounds like the crew have their work cut out for them. 

Star Trek Into Darkness opens in theaters May 15.
