New Arrow trailer gives 1st look at a troubled Roy Harper

The CW's released a new midseason trailer for Arrow. They really want you to get excited about what's to come. After this week's game-changing episode, Oliver's bitten off more than he can chew.

[Spoiler alert]

After Diggle provided him with proof of his mother's dirty dealings, Oliver had no choice but to confront her. Yet somehow he found himself on the opposite end of a gun. Flash forward to him back at his lair recovering from a nasty bullet wound. When it comes to the new promo, we noticed several things.

First off, it sounds like Felicity (Queen Consolidated's resident techie) is brought in on Oliver's operation. That's been a long time coming. Secondly, we get our first glimpse of Roy Harper. In the comics, he was Green Arrow's sidekick, who went by Speedy. That's why it's so interesting that Oliver chose that as a nickname for his sister Thea.

Speaking of Thea, she'll have a rough first encounter with Harper. He's from The Glades and represents a life she knows nothing about. In the trailer, he's shown wearing a red hoodie as he tries to escape with a stolen purse (we assume Thea's). The character is played by Colton Haynes, who previously starred on MTV's Teen Wolf.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
