1st behind-the-scenes pics from Who's 50th anniversary special

You want more of the first Doctor?  You got him!

Yesterday we tantalized you with an image of the script for Doctor Who's 50th-anniversary special, An Adventure in Space and Time.  Today we've got the first behind-the-scenes images from the first few days of filming.  In one of them, you'll get a glimpse of actor David Bradley dressed as William Hartnell, along with Jessica Raine as original showrunner Verity Lambert.  But the main event are the first images of the classic TARDIS exterior.  The more things change ...

Just looking at these is exciting.  Doctor Who has such a rich and storied history that we're amazed a dramatization of how the series was created is only just now being mounted.  Frankly, we're hoping it's such a monster success that they'll keep going.  How Patrick Troughton and regeneration saved the show, Jon Pertwee's exile on Earth, Tom Baker just being Tom Baker -- all these would make great stories, and that's just scratching the surface.

But enough dreaming from us -- on to the gallery!
