Amazing Spider-Man 2 just cast an Oscar winner as Norman Osborn

One of Spider-Man's (and the Marvel Universe at large's) greatest foes has just been cast.

Move aside, Willem Dafoe. For the first time in more than a decade, there's a new Norman Osborn in town. The sinister CEO of Oscorp Industries will be played by none other than Academy Award-winning actor Chris Cooper. Probably still best known for his portrayal of the terrifying next door neighbor in American Beauty, Cooper has a real talent for scaring the pants off of audiences with just a glance. So what we're saying is, this is killer casting, and we can't wait to see if they'll let him take a crack at being the Green Goblin eventually, too.

Cooper is just one of many big names that Amazing Spider-Man 2 has picked up along the way. In fact, with both Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti cast as Electro and Rhino respectively, the only real problem we see is that the villains could very easily outshine the heroes.
