The first trailer for the new sci-fi short HENRi has finally been released, after the film cleaned house on the indie festival circuit. The coolest part? The flick brings 2001: A Space Odyssey’s Keir Dullea (aka Dave) back to the world of sci-fi.
Written and directed by Eli Sasich, the film tells the tale of a derelict spaceship that becomes self-aware and starts building itself a body. The trailer looks like a good mix of 2001: A Space Odyssey and Moon, and should make for a chillingly cool story.
It also brings in some true sci-fi legends on the casting front, with Dullea and Margot Kidder (Superman) the big draws.
Here’s the plot synopsis:
HENRi is an epic new sci-fi short film starring Keir Dullea (2001: A Space Odyssey) and Margot Kidder (Superman). Kickstarter funded, and two years in the making, HENRi tells the story of a derelict spaceship that becomes self-aware and builds itself a mechanical body in order to feel alive. Utilizing a mixture of quarter-scale miniatures, in-camera effects, and computer animation, HENRi is a completely unique and visually stunning short film.
