Director Marc Webb is making some changes to the Spider-Man suit with his upcoming sequel, and we finally have our first look at the Ultimates-styled redesign.
It turns out that peek we got a few weeks ago was pretty accurate, as the new suit features much larger eyes and a slightly tweaked Spidey logo in the center of the suit. But it looks like Webb is keeping the traditional color scheme intact, instead of taking a darker turn.
The new look seems to take some cues from Sam Raimi’s original designs and the Ultimate version of the suit from the comics. Not a bad combo.
Webb is in the early phases of production now, heading toward a May 2, 2014, release date. The sequel will dig deeper into Peter Parker’s (Andrew Garfield) origins, while he takes on a whole new slate of baddies.
