Take revealing peek into the editing bay with Wolverine director

Director James Mangold is pulling the curtain back on his Wolverine film, revealing two new pics from his X-Men spinoff. Want to head inside the editing bay?

Like most directors these days, Mangold is using Twitter to build some buzz for his upcoming sci-fi flick. Judging by the positive vibes surrounding this more serious take on the beloved mutant, it seems to be working.

The Wolverine will follow Logan (Hugh Jackman) to Japan, where he does some brooding and ninja ass-kicking. What’s not to love? Mangold recently shared the moody shot above, as well as the peek below into the editing process:

This one is scheduled to hit the big screen in July. 

It’s easy to see he’s going for a darker tone than the uneven X-Men Origins standalone attempt, which is definitely a good thing. Do you like the look of Mangold’s film?
