What do 2 new pieces of concept art tell us about Pacific Rim?
Guillermo del Toro's giant mech extravaganza is still a bit of an unknown, but these new images might shed a little more light.
Japan has always had a lot of success with the mech genre. The United States? Not so much. But what's nice about Pacific Rim is that it looks like it's attempted to reach for a global audience. That and, based on these two new pieces of concept art, they are crafting some very cool-looking robots and aliens. So let's take a look at what we've got, and you tell us if these new images are helping to build your excitement.

Here we have what looks to be a Russian landscape and one of the mechs that will be defending the human race. Could it be designed specifically for optimal defensive and offensive capabilities for that region of the world?
This looks to be in the mech genere's native land and we've also got what seems to be an alien craft. Very organic and definitely in the del Toro style.
